Folegandros and Naxos are a classic island pair: the small, steep, quiet island of the south-western Cyclades and the big, green, all-round island at the centre of the group. Travellers usually make this crossing at the end of a few peaceful days on Folegandros, heading for Naxos's long sandy beaches, mountain villages and its busy port, which has boats to almost everywhere and an airport close by.
The difficulty is that Folegandros is not on the main Naxos lines. When we researched this page, Ferryhopper had no dedicated route page for Folegandros to Naxos, and our timetable sample found a single direct sailing, on 15 August 2026: the Hellenic Seaways ship Artemis, which took 3 hr 20 min and started at €10. That is a good fare for a long crossing, but it is one boat on one date, not a timetable you can rely on.
Our older route data lists Blue Star Ferries on this crossing with more sailings in the warmer months, but we could not confirm that with a dated source, so we do not quote its times or prices here. Treat any direct boat as a bonus, and check the booking box for your exact date before planning around it.
The good news is that the indirect options are strong. Folegandros has direct boats to Santorini, Ios and Paros, and all three have frequent ferries on to Naxos, so a one-change trip is always worth checking when no direct boat suits you. A few extra minutes comparing routes in the booking box can save a wasted day waiting on Folegandros.
