Folegandros and Paros are two very different Cyclades, and the ferry between them is a natural link in a western-to-central island hop. Folegandros is small, steep and quiet, with a clifftop Chora and a rugged coastline; Paros is one of the hubs of the group, with a lively main town at Parikia, the fishing harbour of Naoussa and beaches all around the coast. Sailing from one to the other takes you from a slow, remote island to one where almost every ferry route in the Cyclades passes through.
That makes this crossing especially useful at the end of a stay on Folegandros. Paros has daily boats to Piraeus, Naxos and Santorini in season, links to Mykonos, and a small airport, so it is a practical place to continue your trip or head home. It works in the other direction too, as a way of adding Folegandros to a Paros-based holiday.
The route is not a busy shuttle. Our data shows conventional ships from Blue Star Ferries and Fast Ferries on about 3 to 5 days a week, with the crossing taking around 2 hours in the main season and closer to 3 hr 36 min on winter sailings. Fares in our data start from €12.
Ferryhopper did not have a dedicated page for this crossing when we researched it, and we have no sampled timetable, so the figures here are indicative. Check the exact day, time and fare in the booking box before you fix your nights on either island. In July and August, book both your ferry and your Paros accommodation early.
