Sifnos to Naxos takes you from the quiet western Cyclades to the busy heart of the group in one go, about 42 nautical miles across open sea. It is the crossing for travellers who have had their fill of Sifnos's hill villages, pottery workshops and slow island lunches and now want the long beaches, mountain interior and bigger choice of onward boats that Naxos offers.
In practice this is a Seajets route. Its high-speed boats cover most of the year, usually with calls at other islands on the way, so the trip takes anything from under three hours to well over four. Last year's data also shows an occasional Blue Star Ferries sailing, roughly weekly in the months when it ran, which is far cheaper but slower and, being a single sailing, easy to miss.
Arriving on Naxos is one of the easier landings in the Cyclades: the port is part of Chora, the island capital, so you can walk from the ramp into town. From there, boats fan out to Paros, Mykonos, Ios, Santorini and the Small Cyclades, which makes Naxos a good hinge in a longer island-hopping plan.
We have no dated timetable sample for this direction, so the times and fares below come from Ferryhopper's Naxos and Sifnos route page as checked on 24 September 2026, using only the rows for sailings from Sifnos. Before you book, check your exact date on the booking page, especially in winter.
