After a few days of empty beaches and early nights on Donousa, the direct boat to Paros drops you back into the lively middle of the Cyclades. Paros has sandy beaches, the harbour town of Naoussa, plenty of places to eat and stay, an airport and ferries to almost every island, so it makes a natural next stop or a convenient last night before heading home.
Only one company links the two islands directly: Blue Star Ferries, with a large conventional car ferry that works its way through the Small Cyclades. It is a comfortable ship with outside decks, but it does not sail every day, and the trip takes a little over two hours because of the stops on the way.
You board at Stavros, which is Donousa's port and main village in one, so leaving is as simple as walking down to the quay with your bags. You arrive at Parikia, the Paros capital, where the old town begins a few steps from the port and buses, taxis and hire cars take you on to Naoussa and the beaches.
We did not find a Ferryhopper page dedicated to this direction, so the figures here come from the Donousa to Paros rows of its Paros to Donousa page. Use them to plan, then confirm the sailing day for your date, because on an island this small the boat decides your schedule.
