Milos to Kimolos is one of the shortest hops in the Cyclades and one of the most charming. Kimolos is the small, quiet neighbour of Milos, with beautiful beaches, volcanic landscapes and an unhurried pace. Its main village, Chorio, sits just above the port. Some visitors come for a day from Milos; others stay a few nights to enjoy an island that still feels far from the crowds.
The ferries on this route leave from Adamas, the port town that faces the big bay of Milos, and land at Psathi, the main port of Kimolos, a small harbour with tavernas, cafés and a few places to stay. From Psathi it is a 15-minute walk or a 3-minute drive up to Chorio.
In a trip plan, Kimolos is usually a side trip from Milos, or a stop on the western Cyclades line towards Sifnos, Folegandros or Paros. Because the islands are so close, it is easy to fit in, but the larger ferries on this route do not run every day, so it pays to plan around the timetable rather than assume a boat will be there.
Before booking, note the price gap: the conventional ferries started from €4.50 when we checked, while the seasonal Seajets fast boat cost from €24.70 on our 12 August 2026 sample, several times more for a shorter ride. This page covers the sailings from Adamas that appear on Ferryhopper, so check the booking page for what runs on your day.
