Kimolos is the quiet little neighbour of Milos, just across a narrow strait to the north-east, and the two islands are best seen together. Many visitors base themselves on one and hop across to the other, and this short crossing is also how most people on Kimolos reach the bigger island's airport, wider ferry network and busier harbour town.
You leave from Psathi, the small port of Kimolos, a short walk below the main village of Chorio, and arrive at Adamas, the port town of Milos, in a sheltered bay on its north coast. Adamas has plenty of places to eat, sleep and hire a car, and it is about 5 km from Plaka, the capital of Milos.
The crossing is short whichever boat you choose. Blue Star Ferries keeps the link open all year, Aegean Sea Lines adds sailings in some months, and Seajets runs a very quick high-speed boat in summer. Because the conventional ships take under an hour and cost far less than the fast boat, most travellers simply pick the one whose departure time suits them.
Ferryhopper does not publish a separate page for this direction, so the details here come from the Kimolos to Adamantas figures on its Milos to Kimolos page, checked on 24 September 2026. Our own older route data listed a two-hour trip, which does not match those figures, so always confirm the time on the booking page.
