Antiparos Town
The island's only real village, built around a 15th-century Venetian kastro whose outer houses form the castle wall. The pedestrian main street runs from the harbour to the square, lined with cafés, boutiques and some genuinely good restaurants. Most of the island's hotels and studios sit within a five-minute walk of it.
Best for Everyone, it's the island's hub

Psaraliki & the town beaches
Two sandy, shallow coves a few minutes' walk south of the village, backed by tamarisks and a couple of beach bars. Rooms and small hotels here put you on the sand while keeping the village dining scene in slipper distance.
Best for Families, beach-first stays without isolation

Soros
The locals' favourite swimming beach, halfway down the east coast: a long sandy bay with calm water and two tavernas. A small cluster of studios and villas makes it the pick for travellers who want quiet days and don't mind the 10-minute drive (or seasonal bus) to town for dinner.
Best for Swimmers, slow travellers, repeat visitors

Agios Georgios
The island's far south end, facing the uninhabited islet of Despotiko and its ancient sanctuary of Apollo. A handful of seafront tavernas, villa rentals and one of the best sunset views in the Cyclades. Boat taxis cross to Despotiko's excavations and empty beaches.
Best for Seclusion, archaeology fans, sunset chasers

04Planning advice
How to plan your Antiparos stay.
When to book
May–October, peaking July–August when the village buzzes late into the night. Because so many visitors only day-trip from Paros, overnight stays feel surprisingly peaceful once the last boat leaves, that 7pm-to-10am island is the one you're really booking. June and September are ideal: warm sea, open tavernas, easy availability.
Practical tips
The local ferry from Pounda on Paros takes 10 minutes and runs every half hour through the day (cars carried too); excursion boats also cross from Parikia in summer. On the island, bikes and the seasonal bus cover most needs, rent a small car only if you're staying at Soros or Agios Georgios.
How to choose
Antiparos Town for character, dining and nightlife within steps of your room; Psaraliki to put kids straight onto sand; Soros or Agios Georgios for real seclusion. Wherever you stay, the famous stalactite cave and Despotiko are easy half-day trips.
For families
Antiparos is very family-friendly, flat, safe, with calm shallow beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. The 411-step stalactite cave is a guaranteed hit with kids (count the steps down, regret them up).
For couples
The bohemian atmosphere, sunset drinks by the harbour, and the sense of escape make Antiparos irresistibly romantic. Several boutique properties offer couples-focused stays.
FAQ
Common questions: staying in Antiparos.
- Antiparos Town for character and dining, Psaraliki for beach-with-convenience, Soros or Agios Georgios for seclusion and sunsets toward Despotiko.
- A 10-minute car ferry from Pounda on Paros, running every 30 minutes, plus summer excursion boats from Parikia. Fly or ferry into Paros first.
- Studios from €40/night, mid-range rooms €70–140, boutique hotels and villas €120–250. Noticeably better value than equivalent properties on Paros or Mykonos.
- Stay at least one night. Day-trippers see the cave and the main street; overnight guests get the magic hours, sunset at the kastro and quiet morning swims, that make the island special.
- Not if you stay in town or Psaraliki, the island is small and flat enough to cycle. Staying at Soros or Agios Georgios, a small car or the seasonal bus helps for dinner runs.
- For July–August, 3+ months ahead, the island has barely 20 hotels and the celebrity-summer crowd books early. Shoulder months are far more forgiving.
