Discover Cyclades

The Definitive 2026 Neighborhood & Area Guide
Antiparos is Paros' smaller, more bohemian sister, a compact island with a famous stalactite cave, a charming car-free main street, and a laid-back atmosphere that has attracted celebrities (including Tom Hanks). With 20+ properties, it offers beach-front simplicity and boutique charm, and you'll feel it.

The island's only real village, built around a 15th-century Venetian kastro whose outer houses form the castle wall. The pedestrian main street runs from the harbour to the square, lined with cafés, boutiques and some genuinely good restaurants. Most of the island's hotels and studios sit within a five-minute walk of it.
Two sandy, shallow coves a few minutes' walk south of the village, backed by tamarisks and a couple of beach bars. Rooms and small hotels here put you on the sand while keeping the village dining scene in slipper distance.
The locals' favourite swimming beach, halfway down the east coast: a long sandy bay with calm water and two tavernas. A small cluster of studios and villas makes it the pick for travellers who want quiet days and don't mind the 10-minute drive (or seasonal bus) to town for dinner.
The island's far south end, facing the uninhabited islet of Despotiko and its ancient sanctuary of Apollo. A handful of seafront tavernas, villa rentals and one of the best sunset views in the Cyclades. Boat taxis cross to Despotiko's excavations and empty beaches.
Antiparos excels in intimate boutique hospitality, owner-run properties with Cycladic character, personal service, and curated breakfast featuring local produce.
Traditional stone villas and restored houses with private terraces, sea views, and authentic charm. Ideal for families and groups wanting space and independence in Antiparos.
Family-run studios with kitchenettes and balconies are the backbone of Antiparos accommodation, genuine hospitality at excellent value.
Traditional Greek rooms to let offer the most authentic and affordable Antiparos experience. Simple, clean, and often run by local families who share insider tips.
May–October, peaking July–August when the village buzzes late into the night. Because so many visitors only day-trip from Paros, overnight stays feel surprisingly peaceful once the last boat leaves, that 7pm-to-10am island is the one you're really booking. June and September are ideal: warm sea, open tavernas, easy availability.
The local ferry from Pounda on Paros takes 10 minutes and runs every half hour through the day (cars carried too); excursion boats also cross from Parikia in summer. On the island, bikes and the seasonal bus cover most needs, rent a small car only if you're staying at Soros or Agios Georgios.
Antiparos Town for character, dining and nightlife within steps of your room; Psaraliki to put kids straight onto sand; Soros or Agios Georgios for real seclusion. Wherever you stay, the famous stalactite cave and Despotiko are easy half-day trips.
Antiparos is very family-friendly, flat, safe, with calm shallow beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. The 411-step stalactite cave is a guaranteed hit with kids (count the steps down, regret them up).
The bohemian atmosphere, sunset drinks by the harbour, and the sense of escape make Antiparos irresistibly romantic. Several boutique properties offer couples-focused stays.
