Serifos to Milos is a southbound hop through the western Cyclades, about 25 nautical miles from the quiet, hilly island with the whitewashed Chora above Livadi to the most visited island in this group. Milos is the one with the sculpted white and ochre coastline, the boat trips to beaches you can only reach by sea, and a lively harbour village where you land.
Travellers often take this leg after starting their trip close to Athens: Serifos is only about two hours from Piraeus on the fast boats, and continuing to Milos keeps you moving south without doubling back. It also works the other way round in a loop that takes in Sifnos and Kimolos, since the same ships string these islands together.
You have a real choice of boats. In summer the Seajets high-speed service is fastest and most frequent, with two departures on our sample day. All year, three conventional companies share the route at a fraction of the price, taking between about two and three hours, and they carry cars. On a slow ship with open decks, the crossing is a pleasant part of the holiday rather than a chore.
We do not have a separate Ferryhopper page for this direction, so the times and fares here come from its Milos and Serifos route page, using only the rows for sailings from Serifos, plus our 12 August 2026 timetable sample. As always, the booking page has the exact sailings for your date.
