Your experience will start from the graphic village of Pyrgos , the highest village on the whole island, which is situated on the west coast of Santorini. Pyrgos was built in the 15th century by the Venetians, who occupied the area during that time, and holds one of the five castles of Santorini. Small stone-paved alleys, traditional houses accordant to the Cycladic architecture , and old churches set a beautiful, peaceful scenery that will remind you of old times. Reach up to the ruins of the Venetian castle and get the best views of the island and the Aegean Sea, before heading to the Prehistoric city of Akrotiri . The Prehistoric City of Akrotiri is one of the most important historical sites of the Aegean, which is carefully preserved and has been organized in a way that allows visitors to walk through the ruins and meet the former glory of an ancient civilization. (The entrance fee is included only in the Private Tour option.)
For the Private Tour, the experience continues with a visit to the beautiful Perivolos Beach , one of the island’s longest black sandy beaches. Enjoy the relaxing seaside atmosphere, take in the stunning volcanic scenery, and capture the tranquil beauty of the Aegean coast before heading to your next stop.
Next follows a visit to the traditional village of Megalochori , with the beautiful stone-built houses, the small squares with the local cafes, and the old churches, which create an amazing old-fashioned setting! Wander in the small streets and catch the most beautiful images before you continue on a journey of taste! The famous Santorini wine, paired with the most delicious light lunch (Semi-Private) or full lunch (Private), awaits to be tasted at one of the finest wineries on the island, under the guidance and useful information provided by an expert sommelier. A wine-tasting experience and a journey through the history of wine that will absolutely thrill you!
Last but not least, this experience will finish with a visit to the stunning Oia village, on the north side of the island! You will have the chance to walk through its paths, explore the small local shops there, and take the most phenomenal photos of the village and the views of the Volcano and the unique Caldera ! The small white houses built on the side of the wide cliffs, combined with the view of the Aegean Sea and the impressive Volcano, which lies in the middle, is like a beautiful postcard — and you will be part of it!

Very nice tour of the island with a great tour guide. He was very informative and funny. Loved his dry sense of humor. Just wish we could of spent a little more time at each stop. Highly recommend!
- Patricia M.24 Jun 2023 5.0Interesting mix of history and wine
I had not fully appreciated the degree of history this tour would encompass. Perhaps I had not looked beyond the word ‘winery’ that turned out to be an excellent lunch stop at the Vassaltis Vineyard with the very knowledgable and personable Maria. I had not appreciated that this tour would include a visit to Santorini’s very own Pompeii and the on going excavations of what was a Bronze Age sophisticated town. There were additional stops at the coast and to see existing hill top towns and settlements. Some walking is required so sensible shoes are a must - along with a good sense of humour. Our driver and guide Zac provided much warmth, wit and local knowledge. He was also a safe and considerate driver. Definitely a highly recommended day trip. , A great experience!, Well organized!, Our guide was awesome!
