The west coast of Naxos (Mikri Vigla, Laguna) is one of the windiest spots in the Mediterranean due to the channel effect with Paros. For windsurfers and kitesurfers, July and August are the prime months for consistent Meltemi winds.
Family Travel
For families with young children, the beaches of Agios Prokopios and Agia Anna are ideal. June is the perfect month; the water is warming up, the days are long, but the aggressive heat and crowds of August are absent.
Harvest Season
Naxos is an agricultural powerhouse (famous for potatoes and cheese). September is a delightful time to visit the mountain villages (Apeiranthos, Filoti) to witness the harvest and enjoy local food festivals.
