The Island That Defies Comparison

Imagine the chic energy of Mykonos with the authentic soul of Naxos. That's Paros—a Cycladic gem that refuses to fit into a single category.

By day, lose yourself in whitewashed villages where time moves to the rhythm of church bells. By night, join the stylish crowds in Naoussa's glamorous harbor, where fishing boats share the water with superyachts.

History & Geology

Historical Background

Paros has been inhabited since 3200 BC and grew wealthy from Parian marble—a semi-transparent white stone used for masterpieces like the Venus de Milo and the Winged Victory of Samothrace. The Venetians built the Frankish Castle in Parikia and the fortress in Naoussa to protect against pirates. The island served as naval headquarters for the Russian Fleet in the 1770s.

Landscape & Geology

Paros is the third-largest Cycladic island at 196 km², featuring Mt. Marpessa at its center, fertile plains, and a coastline indented with bays. The island is famous for the unique granite rock formations at Kolymbithres—sculpted by wind and sea into moon-like shapes over millennia.
