Andros is large and mountainous. Driving between the main towns takes time, so choosing the right base is critical. The island has three main hubs, each offering a very different experience.
1. Chora (Andros Town)
Best for: Culture, architecture, and sophistication
Unlike most Cycladic capitals, Andros Chora is built on a narrow peninsula rather than a hill. It was home to wealthy shipowners, resulting in neoclassical mansions and marble-paved pedestrian streets rather than typical whitewashed cubes.
