Buses to Plaka (the capital, 4 km), Sarakiniko beach, and Pollonia depart from the port. Taxis to Plaka cost €7–10. Arrive 45–60 minutes before departure in summer. The port has a tourist information office, parking, and free Wi-Fi.
Arriving in Sikinos is to step into the Cyclades of the imagination — ancient, whitewashed, and untroubled by mass tourism. The bus climbs to the double village of Kastro-Chora, where the restored Monastery of Episkopi (built over an ancient Roman mausoleum) is a 30-minute walk further. The island has two beaches — Alopronia (by the port) and Agios Georgios — and the best local red wine in the Small Cyclades. An overnight stay is strongly recommended over a day trip.
