Iraklia’s size makes it ideal for walking. The island has eight designated trails. The trek to the Cave of St. John (Agios Ioannis) is a highlight, as is the climb to the peak of Papas for panoramic views of the archipelago. These are best enjoyed in April, May, and October, when the temperature is mild.

The Underwater World

Iraklia is home to the Alimia plane wreck, a German WWII hydroplane visible from the surface but best explored by diving. September offers the calmest seas and best visibility for snorkeling or diving this site.
