Arriving in Folegandros feels like stepping back in time — this is authentic Cyclades without the tourism overload. The bus to Chora climbs dramatically through the rock, revealing the clifftop village perched 200m above the sea. Accommodation hosts often meet guests at the port. Cars are rarely brought to Folegandros (the island discourages them) — scooters or ATV rentals in Chora serve beach transport. The main square in Chora, with bougainvillea-draped kafeneions, is one of Greece's most beautiful.
