Seat & Cabin Classes: Economy Seats: Numbered airline-style seats (standard). Business Class: Premium seats in quieter forward cabin with extra legroom. First Class / VIP: Available on select vessels — premium lounge with dedicated service. No sleeping cabins on high-speed vessels.
Luggage Policy: Up to 50 kg per passenger, free of charge. On high-speed catamarans, luggage is stored in overhead bins or designated racks — no large oversize items. All luggage must fit in designated storage areas.
Pets: Pets accepted free when included in booking. Animals under 10 kg stay with owner in a carrier in the passenger cabin. Larger pets use kennels in the vehicle area. Health certificate required. Note: on rough sea days, pets in the vehicle area may experience more motion.
Vehicles: Selected Seajets vessels carry vehicles — check the specific sailing when booking. Car rates from €35–70. Motorcycles from €10–20. Many Seajets catamaran services are passenger-only — if vehicle transport is essential, verify before booking.
All ferries on this route have clean restrooms, luggage storage areas, and food and beverage service. In peak season (July–August), we recommend reserving a specific seat or cabin class rather than traveling on an open deck ticket.
Travel Tips
Amorgos has two ports: Katapola (main port, western side) and Aegiali (northern port). Most ferries from Athens and Naxos use Katapola; check your ticket carefully. Katapola is a lovely port village with tavernas and a small beach. Buses to Chora (8 km, 15 min, €2) depart from the port. Arrive 45 minutes before departure. The famous Monastery of Hozoviotissa, carved into the cliff face, is 6 km from Katapola — a must-visit. Taxis cost €10–15 to Chora.
Arriving in Folegandros feels like stepping back in time — this is authentic Cyclades without the tourism overload. The bus to Chora climbs dramatically through the rock, revealing the clifftop village perched 200m above the sea. Accommodation hosts often meet guests at the port. Cars are rarely brought to Folegandros (the island discourages them) — scooters or ATV rentals in Chora serve beach transport. The main square in Chora, with bougainvillea-draped kafeneions, is one of Greece's most beautiful.
Seajets prices are lowest when booked 3+ months ahead. In summer, the fastest sailings (Worldchampion Jet routes) sell out weeks in advance. For the cheapest fares, choose earlier morning departures. Seajets is the best choice for the Athens–Mykonos, Mykonos–Santorini, and Santorini–Ios routes.
Folegandros is celebrated for its dramatic clifftop Chora perched 200m above the sea, pristine untouched beaches, and authentic Cycladic atmosphere far from mass tourism. Don't miss exploring the main town (Chora), the local beaches, and the traditional tavernas.
