Best Time to Visit Tinos: Pilgrimage and Surf

The Great Pilgrimage

August 15th (Assumption of the Virgin) is the defining event. Thousands of pilgrims crawl on their knees from the port to the church of Panagia Evangelistria. Unless you are participating, this is a difficult time to visit due to crowding.

Surfing

Kolymbithra beach is home to the Tinos surf scene. The Meltemi in August provides the waves. For surfers, this is the peak season.
