Santorini beaches: volcanic sand, zero crowds
Santorini's beaches look nothing like the rest of Greece โ black, red, and white volcanic sand create otherworldly coastlines. Perissa and Kamari are the longest organised stretches with sunbeds and tavernas, while Red Beach near Akrotiri delivers dramatic scenery (arrive by boat from Akrotiri port). For swimming without crowds, drive south to Vlychada or hike down to Mesa Pigadia.
