Mykonos wedding planning is regulated. Civil ceremonies require a Greek licence and a registered venue. Most "wedding villas" are residential properties that legally cannot host more than the villa's sleep capacity plus a small ceremony group. We publish the legal reality.

The Greek civil-marriage licence
Both partners file a joint declaration at the Mykonos municipality (Δήμος Μυκόνου) at least 14 days before the ceremony. Documents required: passports, certified birth certificates apostilled, certificate of no impediment from each partner's home country, divorce decree if applicable.
Where the ceremony actually happens
Civil ceremonies are conducted at the Mykonos Town Hall or at a "registered" outdoor location (most Mykonos hotels and a small set of villas hold registration). Religious ceremonies (Greek Orthodox) are at Panagia Tourliani in Ano Mera or Panagia Paraportiani in Chora.
For villa weddings: only registered villas can legally host the civil ceremony itself; non-registered villas host the reception only.
Capacity and curfew
Residential villa permits cap event guest count at sleep capacity + 50%. So a 20-sleeper villa hosts ~30. For 80-100 guest weddings, the standard playbook is: ceremony at Panagia Tourliani; reception at Ftelia Beach Club, Solymar, or one of the events-licensed estates with a separate paddock.
Music curfew: outdoor amplified music ends at 23:00. Pool/garden music ends at 23:30. After that the party moves indoors or to a beach-club venue.
